National Assessment Program: Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) 2025

Online Assessments: Year 3 & Year 5 Students

Our Year 3 & Year 5 Students will be undertaking NAPLAN online assessments during Week 7 & 8 of Term 1 2025 (Wednesday 12 March- Monday 17 March).

Parents/carers who are wishing to learn more about the assessments or who would like to assist their student/s to prepare for the technical requirements of the assessments can find more information at the below hyperlinks:

Students will be preparing with their classroom teachers throughout Term 1. We will also be conducting a “practice test” with all students ahead of the test window, to ensure that students have familiarity and fluency within the testing platform.

For parents that wish to support their students in accessing the relevant hyperlinks to “practice sites” at home and work through the relevant technical skills related to answering questions, please access either the NAPLAN Locked Down Browser App (iPads) or the NAPLAN Public Demonstration Site below:

Whilst engaging with the content at the above hyperlinks, parents/carers may wish to work through the below “Student Technical Skills Checklists” with their student. These student technical skills checklists will be worked towards by students within their classrooms with the support of their teachers throughout Term 1, however, parents and carers may also like to consolidate these technical skills with students should they wish at home:

Our Year 3 students will be completing their “Writing Assessment” within the NAPLAN Testing Suite in a pencil-paper format. All of their other assessments will be “Online”.

Our Year 5 students will be completing all of their assessments online. Whilst touch-typing is not a pre-requisite, continuing to promote opportunities for your student to type using the keyboard on their iPad over the coming weeks would be encouraged to continue to promote familiarity and fluency with their device.
