Ruby's Round Up!
Not my favourite fortnight of the year. Due to the cyclone and NAPLAN, I have had to stay at home and not come to school. Even though I tried looking my Mum in the eyes and really showing her that I wanted to go to work. I would give great pats at NAPLAN but my Mum says because it is a once-a-year assessment all the children really need to concentrate on what they are doing and not be watching me.
I did get to come for a few days and it was great when some children, who may not be as confident around dogs to start with realise that I am very soft and gentle and really fun to pat. I also attend parent meetings some days with my Mum and the other teachers. Look at me sitting up paying so much attention to what was happening this day. I put myself up on the chair my Mum was not so sure.
Therapy dogs Australia recently used this quote in answer to the question what does a therapy dog do. “Because of a dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift” (Mary Oliver)
To finish my fortnight off I got to go to one of my favourite parades of the year, Harmony Day. I wore my orange t-shirt and joined in with the theme of "everyone belongs".
Love Ruby
