Transition to Prep 2026

Transitioning our littlest learners into school is a journey that starts long before January. Last week, many of our soon-to-be Prep students attended the first Stay and Play at Windsor SS. Thank you to Mr Farrell for supporting this session, as the children practised some HPE routines and got active on our top oval. Stay and Plays offer an optional opportunity for families to experience the school environment. Next term, more of these opportunities will be offered as well as the commencement of Prep enrolment meetings. Further details about these will be emailed home to 2026 Prep families this week. In Term 4, all our 2026 Prep students are encouraged to attend our 4 x Transition Mornings which provides them with the opportunity to experience the Prep classrooms throughout the term. If you have a child ready to start Prep in 2026 and you have not yet submitted your paperwork, please do so ASAP to ensure you are included in all communications and invitations.

School enrolments @ Windsor

Establishing and maintaining our student enrolments directly impacts our quantity of staffing at Windsor. For this reason, I am requesting that any families who already know that they will be departing Windsor at the end of 2025, to please let admin@windsorss.eq.edu.au know as soon as able. NB.Year 6 students are already accounted for. Alternatively please complete this survey https://windsorss.schoolzineplus.com/form/873

Although early in the year, for some, these decisions are already made and the sooner we have this information, the better prepared I am in maintaining consistency of staffing at our wonderful school.

Mid Year Music Concert

Nearly a sold-out event, our Mid-Year Music Concert was an evening filled with such wonderful sounds and smiles. Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior String Orchestras, Junior and Senior Bands, Junior and Senior Choirs and Senior Guitar ensemble certainly entertained the audience throughout the evening, showcasing the hard work and persistence of our student musicians throughout the semester. The special twilight concert from our Junior Choir prior to the more formal event certainly highlighted the joy of making music together – it was a stage and audience full of smiles. The smiles didn’t stop there, with our older students proudly performing to an audience of nearly 600 throughout the concert. Congratulations and thank you to all the students who performed and to Mrs Kim Fanning, Mrs Victoria Taylor, Mrs Lindy-Jo Free and Mr Joe Fallon to for their unwavering commitment to our Windsor SS music program.
