Listening to Li Cunxin and Anna-Liza Mopio-Jane’s talk about leadership to Year 5, made me realise that leadership is a privileged role that requires courage, confidence, teamwork, selflessness, and kindness. A true leader makes decisions based on what is best for the team, not just themselves, and is willing to step in when something isn’t right. Leadership also means having the courage to speak the hard truth, even when it makes you feel vulnerable. I learned that being a leader isn’t always easy—responsibilities and tough choices come with the role—but it is through these challenges that real leadership is shown.
