Continued Awareness- Repetition of Key Messages…
In our internet safety presentations so far this year, we have focused on some key messages for students, which we strongly encourage all parents to remind their students of at home:
- The internet is PUBLIC and PERMANENT
- I protect my personal details online
- People I only know on the internet are strangers
- We all have rules on the internet and computers
- I talk to a trusted person if I have an online problem
The 5 Key Principles that we have previously mentioned that enable parents to establish clear expectations regarding their student’s use of the internet at home:
- Set clear rules and boundaries
- You make the final decisions
- Use management controls
- Stay up to date with student’s usage
- Communicate with your kids regularly
